Of the enumerable pros to living in NYC, unprecedented access to people rallying around their passions and curiosities ranks at the top of my list. Last year around this time, my friend Simone emailed me a link to the Brooklyn Skillshare. I remember hoping it would take off. Events like these don’t happen by snapping your fingers. I very much admire people like BKSS founder, Meg Wachter, who take the initiative to coordinate something that caters to so many. Events like BKSS, Hobby and Creative Mornings (among others) have been a good remedy for my own internet feed fatigue. Sometimes you just need a dose of IRL-awesome.
That being said, when BKSS reached out for a designer, I decided to answer. Made this illustration and poster. Hope to silkscreen it at the class October 9th. See you there!
PS: I would be super impressed if anyone could correctly identify object that makes the first O in Brooklyn. Clue: starts with an L. If you write me, and I do end up screening something, I’ll send you a print for free.

THANKS, ERICA!!!!
